Things which i've learned from October Sky Movie.

Welcome back, so today I'm going to talk about the movie October Sky (1999 ) which is an American Biographical Drama film and it's based on the real-life story of Homer H. Hickam, Jr., a coal miner's son who was inspired and passionate about creating rockets that can fly in the sky and instead of following his family tradition he decided to be a scientist.

Eventually, he became a NASA Engineer.

So now here are some things which I find quite inspirational from this movie :

1. Need Of A Mentor

This movie shows how a mentor can shape someone's life and inspires someone to follow their heart and to do something meaningful.
when we start seeking for the thing which we want in our life, in most of the cases we don't know how we can achieve them and i think that's when we need a mentor, who can guide us and shows us how we can move forward in the path of uncertainty.

True Mentors give hope and sometimes a man only needs a hope to keep moving forward.

2. Passion

Homer was passionate about rockets, a thing which can travel in the space.

I Think it's love that makes us feel happy and satisfied in our life, its love when we feel stable,
And feel like we have everything in this moment, and I think when you give everything to work or a profession or even to something which you do, a time comes when you realize now you are one with the thing which you've given everything to and then It flows from you, it seems like magic but it's the harmony of love and the it's the only way to get truly satisfied from your life.

3. Courage

Homer dares to follow his heart and to stop going to work of coal mining which he knew he was not  made for.
most of the time, fear holds us back from doing the things which we want to to, and then one day we realize now we can do nothing.

we should have the courage to follow what's important for us, and we should know the fact that we are the mortal beings, if we can't do what we love in our life then we never lived.

4. Respect

Homer always respected his father, even when he was coming into his way, even when he made him feel bad about what he wanted to do.

5. Resourcefulness

Homer didn't have the resources to build the rockets but he somehow manages to get things due to his quality of resourcefulness.

We always complain of not having the tools or resources which we think are important whether it's new books, or going into a top college, or buying luxuries or anything but I think we should understand, it's never about the resources it's about resourcefulness.

That's true that in some cases, if we get best resources the odds of success are likely more but it's not always possible to have the best resources by your side.
so I think we should always focus on what is in our control.

Every great human who did something well never started with the resources they started with the quality of resourcefulness, they start from nothing and they move towards getting everything.

So I think it's very important to have this quality of resourcefulness in us.

6. Hard work

Nothing comes without hard work, nowadays people love to use the word smart work which for me is nothing but hard work in the right direction.
